Securing Elections: A Conversation with Kim Wyman, President, ESI Consulting and Senior Fellow, Bipartisan Policy Center

Please join us on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 11:00 am Pacific for the next installment of Office Hours, a webinar series presented by the Caltech Election Integrity Project and moderated by R. Michael Alvarez, PhD, Flintridge Foundation Professor of Political and Computational Social Science at Caltech and Co-Director, Linde Center for Science, Society, and Policy (LCSSP).

During this episode of Election Science Office Hours, Professor Alvarez's guest will be Kim Wyman, President, ESI Consulting; Former Washington Secretary of State; Senior Fellow, Bipartisan Policy Center; and Former Senior Election Security Advisor, CISA. Professor Alvarez and Kim Wyman will be discussing her career path and talk about threats and harassment of election officials, what happened and how they handled it. They will also talk about CISA, the importance of that work, what do we do in the absence of CISA's dedicated focus on U.S. elections, and her new project(s). The episode will end with her thoughts about what election stakeholders and researchers need to do to prepare for 2026 and 2028.

Kim Wyman possesses 30 years of federal, state, and county-level elections experience. She currently serves as a Senior Fellow, Elections Project at the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) and President of ESI Consulting where she is committed to improving election administration and continuing her successful work to ensure our nation’s elections remain accessible, secure, and accurate.

Kim served as Washington's 15th Secretary of State from 2013 to 2021 and as of 2024, Wyman is the last Republican to have held statewide office in the State of Washington, or in any of the three contiguous West Coast states.

Secretary Wyman left office when she was appointed by President Biden to serve as a Senior Election Security Advisor at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency where she served for just under two years before joining BPC.
