Michael Alvarez, Flintridge Foundation Professor of Political and Computational Social Science at Caltech and Co-Director, Linde Center for Science, Society, and Policy (LCSSP).
During this episode of Election Science Office Hours, Professor Alvarez’s guest will be Steve Trout, Director of Strategic Partnerships for Clear Ballot.
Together they will discuss Mr. Trout's current role at Clear Ballot, the challenges and opportunities for the election technology industry, Mr. Trout's past service to the California and Oregon Secretary of State's Offices, past research efforts, and what's next!
Steve Trout is an election attorney with over 30 years experience in election administration. He has served in both state and local governments and in the private and nonprofit sectors. During his time as State Election Director in Oregon, and as Senior Elections Counsel in California he has worked for six Secretaries of State - three Democrats and three Republicans. Steve has also served in leadership roles on the executive boards of the National Association of State Election Directors and the U.S. Election Assistance Commission Standards Board.
